The landing gear is an element to which we entrust our lives during every landing. In a composite leg, as the name suggests, it is the composite material that is responsible for transferring the forces during touchdown. On a daily basis, this is not something we think about, but during a harder landing, we begin to reflect on it. According to the design requirements, the landing gear should withstand a load of over 2 tons. This is something that captures the imagination of more than just an engineer. Repairing a composite structure must provide the certainty that the aircraft will be safe again.
